TOURING WITH THE SOBs
The SOBs have a longstanding tradition of travel to every member’s hometown (be it in New Haven or Bzenec, Czech Republic!) and a yearly trip abroad. We’ve performed peace concerts in Korea’s DMZ, performed at venues from the White House to the Pushkin Museum, and waded our way through the waters of the Costa Rican Atlantic and Grecian Mediterranean!
Touring is a special part of the SOB experience — four times a year, the SOBs pack up our bags and travel across the country and the world, at no cost to group members. SOBs spend a substantial portion of their year traveling and growing alongside 20 of their best friends: as far as we’re concerned, this is what college is for! Exploring both yourself, traveling the world, and yelling song lyrics in the car on a highway going to who knows where… If that’s the goal, we can think of no better place to spend college than the Society of Orpheus and Bacchus.

LAST YEAR’S TOURS (2024-2025)
This past year, the Society of Orpheus and Bacchus travelled all over the country and the world, with plenty of fun (and even a little bit of singing) along the way. We started off the year with a week-long trip exploring the nation’s capital in Washington D.C., as well as two senior hometowns in Maryland! Winter Break saw the group head out of the cold and down south, for a country-music filled galavant through Nashville and Atlanta.
The SOBs went even bigger with our spring break, and found our way to Bulgaria and Greece. Throughout two weeks, we found ourselves celebrating Katrin’s hometown in Sofia, in the Roman- and Eastern-Bloc- history filled Plovdiv, and climbing the heights of the Parthenon and the cliffs of Sounion to the temple of Poseidon.
Lastly, after an exhausting finals season, we spent a week relaxing while visiting Huck’s hometown in Martha’s Vineyard. A lovely, calm end to an incredible S.O.Year.
